On the expected performance of the SORGENTINA-RF fusion neutron source

Abstract A study devoted to assessing the neutronic performance of SORGENTINA-RF fusion neutron source is here presented. The calculation performed considering characteristics accelerated mixed deuterium/tritium ion beam from source, transport ions into titanium layer that constitutes target, their implantation and reaction cross section. An investigation has been done by varying composition in order assess if what extent diatomic triatomic species affect emission rate plant. This also instrumental evaluate cost-effectiveness equipping with a filtering system remove secondary beam.
